Children's chorus first ever sing Moldovan national anthem in opening of parliament session

The chorus of the Chisinau-based Ciprian Porumbescu republican musical lyceum has sung the National Anthem of Moldova in the beginning of the parliament’s spring session for the first time ever. The initiative belongs to the parliament speaker, who encouraged the MPs to back the institution, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The Moldovan parliament and the Ciprian Porumbescu republican musical lyceum agreed on a partnership. In continuation, events to promote and support gifted pupils of the lyceum will be organized. Pupils of the lyceum will participate in events organized in parliament, in particular, in the opening and closing of parliamentary sessions.  

Speaker Andrian Candu has recently handed over 100,000 lei to the Ciprian Porumbescu musical lyceum. They money was collected at a charity event, organized by the parliament and the Royal House of Romania.

At the same time, starting from 2017, the most gifted pupils of the lyceum will receive a scholarship on behalf of the parliament speaker.
