A new representative of the International Monetary Fund will provide assistance to the State Tax Service in a project supported by the Dutch Government.
Martin Bergwerff will take over the work of his predecessor, Shawn Gale, who worked in the State Tax Service since 1 January 2017. The new expert will work for a year and a half.
According to the Fiscal Service, the goals of the technical assistance project are focused on areas such as tax compliance of high-income individuals, large taxpayers management, organizational reform of the SFS and capacity building to counter large-scale tax evasion.
Employees of the State Tax Service also receive communication training with taxpayers, guided by a team of national and international experts led by US Treasury advisor Thomas Mathews, a delegate to the SFS for three years.
