Japan to provide 4.8 million dollars to develop conservation agriculture in Moldova

Moldova will benefit from a grant worth about 4.8 million dollars on behalf of Japan, to implement a project titled, Conservation Agriculture – Development of Sustainable System of Soils’ Management in Moldova.

A decision on starting negotiations and approving the signing of an agreement on grant between the governments of the two states was approved at a today’s cabinet meeting. The project provides for purchasing equipments for conservation agriculture.

The conservation agriculture is a priority of Moldova, stipulated in the National Strategy of Agricultural and Rural Development for 2014-2020. This implies development of a sustainable agriculture, adapted to the climate changes, by applying practices which protect and ameliorate the soil’s fertility.
