Prime Minister Pavel Filip had on 21 October 2016 a meeting with a group of business people working in services and trade. For two hours, as long as the meeting lasted, participants had the opportunity to talk about the problems they faced, and to present their views on the necessary measures to overcome them.
During the dialogue, the prime minister spoke about the actions taken by the government to remove barriers to business development. Among those are: reviewing the legal framework for controls, reduction in the number of controlling bodies, but also of permits to open and conduct business activity. "The government’s primary objective is to ensure the wealth of our country, to give people a system based on justice and equity, good salaries and pensions, so that they can pay taxes and state institutions to be respected in society," Pavel Filip said.
The Prime Minister expressed the executive’s full opening for a constructive dialogue with business, including through Economic Council operating under the Prime Minister, and any other communication platforms to identify jointly the best solutions to the existing problems.
The businessmen welcomed the government's actions in the field of state controls and called for further measures that would bring clarity and rule in that regard. At the same time, they raised a number of issues that required state’s special attention. Among them, it is the need to change the mechanisms of interaction between business and the state on the patterns of European countries, which provide transparent minimizing the human inputs and processes.
The parties agreed on the organization of similar meetings further on, to have an open and constant dialogue between government and business field in order to determine optimal solutions for Moldova's development.
